Screenings: Free screenings at our office upon a referral from a physician or psychologist. This 15 minute free screening enables us to do a "quick listen" to the child's speech, use of language, and understanding of language skills. If, after the screening, it appears that an evaluation is necessary, we will discuss the reasons with the parents. If the child appears to be within normal limits for their age in the areas of concern, then suggestions will be made to the parents as to what to work on and/or to bring the child back for another free screening at a later point in time.

Evaluations: Evaluations of Birth To 3 population, preschool, and school-aged children. Testing for disorders of articulation, language-learning, language delays, auditory processing, feeding/oral motor, fluency, voice, and language-based reading/spelling disorders.

Therapy: Individualized goals and therapy programs are established for each child with parents encouraged to observe sessions to promote carryover and home practice. For language-learning delayed children. Therapy services for children may also be provided in the home, private schools, or daycares.

Consultations: Consultations to individuals and businesses are provided to improve communication skills for presentation skills, improve vocal skills (i.e., eliminate a monotone, decrease a fast rate, etc), or reduce a regional or foreign accent.
We accept commercial insurance and are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Cariten, CIGNA, CoverKids, and many others. We are also in network with these Tenncare MCOs: Bluecare, Americhoice, and Tenncare Select. We are happy to file insurance claims for our clients.
From Sheila Schlosshan, Project Coordinator, Tennessee's Early Intervention Services (TEIS)
"Deborah L. Curlee Communication Consultants, Inc. provides a high quality of speech pathology services to children in our Tennessee's Early Intervention Program´┐┐This agency is well respected in the professional community. They are experienced and competent in working with infants and toddlers with oral/motor, feeding, and speech/language difficulties. They go above and beyond what is required in order to coordinate and communicate with other service providers through meetings, conferences, and phone calls.

From June, the mother of John, age 4:
"We started therapy with Debby 6 months ago and, while we have a long way to go, John's progress has been more than I ever let myself hope for. Until 3 weeks ago, he had not spoken in Sunday School or nursery school before. Today, his nursery school teacher told me she had to ask him not to talk during rest time. He is even approaching children at the playground and talking with them. Words can't describe the emotion I feel when, only 6 months ago, I feared that John might never be able to communicate with anyone. Debby has made this difference."

Steven DeGeorge, Ed.D.:
(Former Head Administrator at Christian Academy of Knoxville)
"Deborah has served as a resource for the schools where I have worked (Christian Academy and Maryville Christian School). I have been very pleased with the services of Deborah and the therapists she employs. She and her staff provide appropriate feedback so that data in the reports can be understood by the layman. I believe that her assessments of my students have been fair and realistic. I have never felt that her agency was "finding" therapy needs that were vague or questionable."
